Excellent Information


Riverbend Floats float guidelines as it pertains to river levels at the Tahlequah guage:

  • 6’……………………………Children 10 and under shall float in rafts only
  • 6.5’…………………..…….Kayak floating restricted to those 16 years of age and older
  • 7.0’……………….………..Rafts only. Restricted to those 16 years of age and older
  • 7.5’…………………..…….All floating ceases

Please observe the following for your excellent visit to the scenic Illinois River:

  • Wear your life jacket.
  • Do not tie boats together.
  • Drink plenty of liquids and stay hydrated.
  • Do not jump or dive into the river.
  • Do not swing from rope swings.
  • Avoid logs and do not grab hold of limbs.
  • Wear old tennis shoes or water shoes.
  • Use sunscreen.
  • Stay on the inside of curves.
  • Obey No Trespassing and Private Property signs.
  • Pay attention and watch the river in front of you.
  • Do not take valuables and/or keys on your float trip.
  • We provide thrash bags for our float customers.
  • Please don’t litter.
  • Riverbend Floats is not responsible for accidents.


If you have your own life jacket, please bring it. We provide life jackets at no cost if you do not own one.

For your floating safety please observe the following GRDA Oklahoma scenic rivers division rules:

Violations are subject to fines.


  • Individuals under 13 years of age must wear a life jacket.
  • Life jackets must be available for all individuals.
  • Visitors may bring one ice chest per boat that is 50 quarts or smaller.
  • When floating, visitors are limited to one ice chest per vessel.
  • No liquor, wine, or products concocted of wine or liquor allowed on scenic rivers or in GRDA access areas.
  • No alcohol consumption is allowed at Round Hollow, Todd, or the US 59, US 412, or US 62 Bridges.
  • Glass and styrofoam are prohibited on scenic rivers, gravel bars, and GRDA access areas.
  • Ice chests and coolers shall be secured to the vessel to prevent the spilling of contents.
  • Tying boats or tubes together is prohibited.
  • No nudity, obscene behavior, or vulgar language.
  • Violation of these rules may result in a fine of $206.00.
